I made a visit to Waffle Love during an unnaturally overcast day in Phoenix, and chanced upon Sunny, the owner, who so warmly welcomed me and the company of my camera for a quick photo shoot and tasting session. First, I ordered Cinnabliss, a cinnamon sugar waffle with a scoop of vanilla ice cream (rolled in a corn flake mixture), topped with caramel cream and a raspberry on top. Second, I ordered Strawberries and Cream.
Waffle Love made for an incredible food shoot. The Cinnabliss, though nearly monochromatic, presented various textures that captured light and glistened; ruby details added character to the classic breakfast staple.
